My wife and I enjoy the creation of a trip as much as taking it. We start the planning process in advance with a spreadsheet. We visit web pages, obtain travel brochures, Lonely planet books and search the internet for specials.  Over the past few years we have visited Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Guam and all but one region of Japan. I like to write about the local people, food, transportation, accommodations and of course the savings. I take many pictures using a 50X digital camera.  I keep extensive notes on all my trips and have information on the Northwest, Southeast, Canada, Japan, Guam, South America and Costa Rica, including many excellent pictures.
